Verging on the Pertinent

Ha! Nothing new here. Just thought I'd type something up since I had to access my blog for other matters. Its Dan's birthday. I made pasta and pork with red sauce and chebe rolls. Now we have chebe bellies. For those of you who haven't experienced this, well, it is a blessing and a curse. We had GF chocolate cake and tea for desert. There is an X-Files preview on right now. We're excited about that. Won't get to see it this weekend. But, it is definitely on the calendar.

Dan is doing work. He's got his computer open, but at least he was home at a decent hour. We have Deadliest Catch on--its one of D's favorite shows.

La la la--killing time.

At Karen's urging, I'm posting my email to her as a blog entry. Since I haven't been here in a very, very long time, who knows if anyone will read this.

So this was my morning.

Cat meowing on my bed like a snooze alarm. Every 9 minutes or so. She'd leave and come back.

Finally, I couldn't take it. Maybe she needs food? I get up. On my way to the kitchen, I look out the window and see a dead chipmunk in the pool (found another one in the skimmer box. Crap. But, itsgarbage day at least. I can get them out if I move fast. I run around the house looking for some grocery bags. Can't find any so I grab a ziploc. I hear the garbage truck. I seal up the bag and look outside. The garbage bin has been buried under remodeling rubbish. Dan has already taken just the garbage bag out to the curb. So, I grab a contractor bag with remodeling garbage. I test it. Not too heavy. I shove the critter bag in there. Then, I pick it up carefully because the garbage had broken through the bag in one place. I start to walk quickly down the driveway--the truck is almost here. About 3/4 the way down, I felt something in my middle back pop. Ouch. Now it is a persistent ache. But, if I move certain ways (washing my hands for instance), it is a sharp pain. I've already taken my usual pain meds. No help here. I'll go to physical therapy today.

Oh, and the cat did have food and water. I don't know what her deal was.

So, I'm dead tired last night. Went to bed before midnight. Some time around 12:30 I was woken by this strange noise. At first I thought it was Dan weezing/snoring. But, as I gradually became more conscious, I realized it wasn't Dan. First thought was that a critter was in the pool. I could hear two distinct sounds now. I jump out of bed and run down the hall to the living room window that overlooks the pool. Nothing in the pool. I still hear the noise. It is not in the backyard. I stand still and listen. Its coming from out front--probably right near my bedroom window. I open the front door. The sound stops. I am thinking its an animal. But what sort? Is it safe to go outside? What if its a rabid fox? I stand at the front door for a bit, but the sound doesn't return. I go back to bed and listen until I fall asleep.

So, if you laughed at me and my rabid fox theory, I just have one thing to say. . .it was at least a fox. I looked up fox sounds today and this is what I heard last night:

So, went to the chiropractor today. Part of a new pain management plan. At least he knew what carnitine is and what it does. So, according to him, my ribs were misaligned. My right hip was rotated forward. And my neck through middle back was messed up. I've been manipulated. Crack, crack, crack. Muscle is still super tight but we'll see if there is improvement. The one thing I was surprised to learn is that my right leg is shorter than my left. How disappointing!
